Fundraise for Black Dog Institute in honour of Jacq Steward
On 15 August 2024 I lost one of my closest friends of over 30 years to the Black Dog. Over the years I have had far too many friends and colleagues end their lives, and the Black Dog Institute does great work raising awareness of mental health issues, reducing stigma around mental health and conducting suicide prevention. The loss of Jacq has hit harder and deeper than any other, and has motivated me to take action.
Anyone who knows me knows that I hate running with a passion. After my last 10km 'fun run' I swore I would never do that again, and I am staying true to my word. On 1 December 2024 I will be running the Angkor Wat half marathon in Cambodia - 21km of pain in honour of Jacq.
Jacq was a larger than life character, who brought joy to countless people she met around the world. I would be grateful if you would support me in my mission to help Black Dog ensure that no one else has to suffer the pain and loss that her family, friends and loved ones are experiencing right now.
