Hi everyone! I've recently decided to partake in a fulfilling community outreach program hosted by the Global Brigade program, and more specifically the Global Dental Brigade group at Northeastern. I am raising money to fund this experience that will take place in Panama this coming January. Our goals are to assist dentists at community clinics, educate the public about dental health strategies, and pass out oral health needs such as toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste in various rural communities. This work is incredibly important for both children and adults because oral health poses as a window into overall health status, and problems in the mouth such as decay and infections can have damaging effects on the rest of the body. Many of the communities we will be visiting do not have access to affordable and quality dental resources, so we aim to provide these services as best we can.
