Funding Line 3 Action Teams from CA

Tax deductible
**4/6 UPDATE: Just 48 hours after increasing our goal to $10,000 we surpassed it!! Thanks everyone! So we're pushing it up to $11,000 today. The more money we raise the more we'll be able to bring to the Indigenous-led camps leading the movement against Line 3. Let's keep going!!

East Point Peace Academy has played a central role in organizing multiple pods of Bay Area activists to travel to Minnesota to join the movement to stop Line 3. We are excited to let you know that a team of 15 is preparing to depart for Minnesota on April 10, and another team of 18 or so is getting ready for the journey in May. We are deeply grateful for and inspired by these courageous and passionate activists who have responded to the Indigenous call to mobilize against this massive tar sands pipeline -- a mega-project that represents just about everything that's wrong with our nation's extractive, earth-desecrating economy.

These activists are in need of support.

We were not anticipating this level of response when we first put the feelers out for folks who might want to go to Minnesota, and our initial gofundme goal of $4000 reflected that. Now that we're looking at trips including over 25 Line 3 activists - which is amazing!! - we've had to re-evaluate our financial needs to pull this off. We have therefore upped our goal to $11,000.

Please contribute, if you're able, as generously as you can. Money raised will be used for:

(1) Offsetting costs for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) participants who might not otherwise be able to make the trip

(2)  Offsetting trip costs (gas, hotels, camping gear, food) in order to reduce the out-of-pocket expenses for other participants.

(3) Financial gifts (read "reparations" if you identify as a white settler) for the Indigenous-led camps heading up the Line 3 resistance movement

(If you would like to earmark your contribution for one of the above specifically, please send us as email to let us know, and we'll make sure to direct your contribution accordingly: [email redacted])

Thanks so much to everyone who has already offered support. Whether it's been in the form of money, warm sleeping bags, prayers, or an email expressing your well wishes and solidarity - we really appreciate it!
