My name is Clémentine Delor, I'm 21 and I'm French (from Pau). I'm currently studying for a Masters in International Relations in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Last year, I had the opportunity to volunteer for 1 month with the Carmela Fassi Foundation, in Mendoza (Argentina).
Since 2000, the Carmela Fassi Foundation has been dedicated to creating a safe, development-friendly space for socially vulnerable people with learning disabilities in the department of Las Heras, province of Mendoza.
The organization is dedicated to teenagers and young people aged 14 to 50 with intellectual disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling lives and participate actively in society, including social and professional integration.
The Carmela Fassi Foundation also provides educational support for children whose socio-economic situation is considered vulnerable. In addition, the association prepares a weekly "community canteen" for the district in which it is located, considered to be one of the poorest in Mendoza.
For several months now, the Foundation has been experiencing financial difficulties, threatening its establishment. In particular, it is seeking government recognition in order to continue its activities.
In order to do this, the association has to meet a number of habitability criteria, as requested by the inspectors (e.g. build a reception desk, improve the kitchen area, etc).
I have therefore decided to open this fund to support this haven of peace. Donations will be used to finance the Carmela Fassi Foundation's habitability projects, with the aim of perpetuating its activities.
