During the last 20 years, Colombia has had the highest number of displaced people due to the violence between illegal armed groups (guerrilla, far-right paramilitary and drug cartels). In more recent years, as political unrest and poverty intensifies in Venezuela, millions of refugees have left their homes and crossed the border into Colombia. Now the spread of COVID-19 has exacerbated the poverty conditions. With no access to the most basic needs, like food, shelter, and, health care. We knew we had contribute in any possible way during this crisis. So that is why, Bogotown Restaurant created a foundation to help those in need. We prepare meals and deliver it to the most vulnerable. This small initiative has had tremendous support from our friends and family, who have come together and raised funds that have allowed us to feed thousands of people; kids, adults and the elderly. Unfortunately, food is not the only necessity needed in these communities. Hundreds of families live in the cold streets of Bogota. They sleep on the floor in garbage bags, without proper clothing to protect them from the cold weather. With your help, we can feed and clothe those in need.
