Hi! I’ve been organizing whistle kit assembly parties in Chicago. I currently help run a weekly Friday night event at Nighthawk in Albany Park, and I’m working on an event at Beermiscuous in Lakeview.
We have been assembling and distributing 1,000-3,000 whistle kits per week since the start of October. My out-of-pocket costs have been over $250 per party per week, and we’re still not quite keeping up with demand even after generous printing and whistle donations.
Your donation will:
1) Help offset the ongoing cost of supplies.
2) Possibly allow me to expand my capacity and buy whistles with reckless abandon!
3) Any money not spent on whistles will go toward things like filament and key rings for our 3-D printer warriors, donations to Pilsen Arts and Community House (the zine designers fueling whistlemania) and Co-Prosperity (our printing partner), funding for other individuals and orgs helping facilitate whistle distributions, or groups engaging in direct support within our communities. I will never ever pocket more than I spend on whistles/zine materials, and plan to only reimburse myself to the extent needed to keep these parties going.
