Wakefield and Friends Protest is a peaceful weekly Saturday morning protest held in downtown Wakefield, MA. at the busy interesection of Main and Water Streets, from 11 am to noon, rain or shine.

We started the protest because Wakefield had been silent about the ongoing threats from the Trump administration. Now, like-minded people from many different communities have come to rely on our consistent availability and the safety of our venue. Our first protest was in late winter of 2025 and we have met every single Saturday since.

We are now celebrating our First Year anniversary, and enjoy the warm unified protest family that has formed over these last 12 months.

We happily self-funded for the first few months, but with growing numbers came growing expenses. So, we have made the decision to reach out for further funding, beginning with a modest goal. We are dedicated to providing a safe, transparent and legitimate system to receive and account for these funds. And that’s what this Go Fund Me account is all about.

Donations will help cover essentials like safety vests for our trained protest marshals, cowbells (we always need more cowbell, right?), American flags, sign-making supplies and bottled water for protesters. And despite what trump claims, none of us are paid for our work – not a single cent. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We pledge to keep you informed every step of the way. In addition, our team has made a firm commitment to donate any funds that may be left over to local charities, such as a food bank or to organizations such as the ACLU.
