Hi, my name is Brittany, and I’m raising funds to support five incredible young women of color to attend a life-changing intergenerational leadership, mentorship, and cultural immersion experience in Kenya in the summer of 2026, my organization, The InfluenceHers Foundation, and our partner GAWI

This experience brings together professional women and, for the first time, emerging young leaders for 10 days of global exploration, identity-building, emotional wellness, and community service. For these four young women, this trip represents a powerful opportunity to grow in ways that simply aren’t possible within the walls of a classroom.

Why This Mission Is Personal for Me

In 2010, when I was 22, I had my first opportunity to travel abroad to study in London for the summer. Even though I had to take out a loan, I knew it was worth it.

This experience made my world bigger.

I became the first in my circle to travel abroad. But my real transformation didn’t happen until I was 27, when I traveled solo to 11 countries, including Kenya and Tanzania.

Kenya changed everything for me.

It was there that I volunteered, served communities, and saw firsthand how travel and service can expand confidence, identity, emotional resilience, and purpose. Kenya became the place where I felt grounded in who I was and inspired to create the nonprofit I lead today, The InfluenceHers Foundation.

I've been leading trips to Kenya for professional women since 2017. Now, I want to give that same life-changing opportunity to younger women — especially young Black women who rarely have resources and access to global experiences that reflect them, empower them, and affirm their identity.

Why These 4 Young Women? Why Now?

Gen-Z is a unique generation. A generation that, unlike previous ones, has had to navigate overwhelming stress, mental health in the world of social media, isolation, and limited pathways to leadership development or mentorship.

These four young women are college students who are talented, visionary, and full of potential. But opportunities like international travel and cultural immersion can remain out of reach due to financial constraints.

Our Community Service Project in Kenya

Alongside their own growth, these young women will also give back.

We’re partnering with Ubuntu Kenya and GAWI, two organizations dedicated to supporting Kenyan youth — especially young girls. Together, we’ll lead:
