The Field Year is a 12-month public archive, documenting the moments that connect us — starting now, across the country, culminating in a gathering in NYC — because our shared memory is disappearing at the speed of the scroll.
The Field Year: A Living Record of What Matters
The world feels like it’s on fast-forward.
Everything’s optimized, polished, and pushed to feed the machine.
AI can spit out a thousand words in seconds — but it can’t sit in a room and feel the way someone exhales before they take a risk.
It can’t notice the way a hand hovers over a tool.
It can’t see the way a person’s whole body shifts when they know they’ve found the right note.
We’re losing those moments.
And with them, the map back to each other.
For the past eight months, I’ve been in the field, creating Field Notes form the Work and the Wild — portraits, one-liners, and audio stories that capture people mid-process, before the truth gets packaged.
Seventeen pieces are already out in the world. Four more are in the works.
Now, I’m inviting you to help me expand this into The Field Year — a full 12 months of documenting the moments that connect us, culminating in a gallery gathering in NYC where we can stand in the work together.
What your support makes possible
A year of fieldwork: portraits, one-liners, and audio stories from across the country
Travel to meet people where they are
A free, public online archive for everyone
A gathering in NYC to bring the year’s work into shared space
Why it matters
When we only see the outcome, we forget how change actually happens.
When process disappears, we lose the blueprint for resilience, meaning, and connection.
The Field Year keeps that blueprint alive. It’s a counterweight.
It’s proof we can move slower, deeper, and truer and still shape the future.
Ways to contribute
Every contribution brings this living record to life. As the project unfolds, I’ll share updates and behind-the-scenes moments with everyone who supports it, and your name will be included in the online archive as part of the community making The Field Year possible.
Along the way, I hope to create prints, host gatherings, and share special updates as a way of expressing gratitude and keeping this community connected.
