Since our start in August 2025, the RHHS Young Democrats has gained 25 members and has logged over 70 volunteer hours!
These efforts included:
- volunteering at the 2025 BCNAACP Freedom Fund Gala
- organizing a food drive
- protesting ICE and No Kings
- participating in community meetings (School Board, BCDC, DWBC).
- our first school-wide campaign “Spread the Love” which promotes spreading love kindness to our teachers, peers, and selves.
Now, we're off to the GA State Capitol to meet with legislators and advocate on issues that matter, paying special attention to legislation related to:
- Immigration policy
- Gun violence prevention
- Economic justice
- Senate Bill 120, which proposes a ban on DEI programs in public schools.
