Fund Raising for Sarib & Shaheer Kidney Patients
Donation protected
My name is Imran Aslam, I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am Raising Funds for my Nephews who are Kidney Patients.
Sarib: ( 16 Years old) and his Younger Brother
Shaheer: (14 Years old)
Both of them are suffering from a rare genetic disease Alpot Syndrome. The elder is already on kidney dialysis with three sessions every week, he needs a kidney transplant. In Pakistan, free kidney transplant is available at only one hospital (Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation), they only allow kidney donations from immediate family members. Unfortunately, his father has diabetes and has a different blood type. Kidney transplantation at a private hospital may cost around 5.5 million Pakistan Rupees, which their family cannot afford and this is the only option Sarib has to live a normal life.
The younger, Shaheer, is also passing high levels of protein in his urine and has been diagnosed with Alport syndrome. His creatinine levels are gradually increasing, indicating a worsening condition. Doctors have recommended a few additional tests that can only be done through the Aga Khan University Hospital at a lab in the US. The cost of this test is 150,000 Pakistani rupees. He will also need 3-4 injections of a specific medicine which has proven to reverse the disease in 99% of patients. Otherwise, the disease may progress over time. The cost of one injection is approximately 225,000 to 250,000 Pakistani Rupees.
