Middle World Farms are continually trying to provide the fresh fruit, veg and herbs that everyone needs, we are aiming to produce more varied vegetables, local, so there is less reliance on supermarkets.
Due to weather conditions spanning from last year and into January, our poly tunnel was severely damaged in high winds and various storms meaning that we need to re build/salvage it. The poly tunnel skeleton now lies in a better position on the farm after learning from two polytunnel tragedies prior to this. South Westerly winds are not our friend.
We are short on funds at the farm for many reasons, the main being that the long winter; the seasonal 'hunger gap' means a lack of vegetables provide at this time. This lack of funds means that we have lots of tomatoes, cucumbers and jalapeño seedlings to go into the polytunnel but unfortunately we have no plastic cover! Just a sad looking polytunnel skeleton..
We plan to constantly provide bio intensive focused produce whilst aiming to support surrounding Lincolnshire communities. Supporting us with the polytunnel will enable us to push forward with heirloom tomatoes and get some more veg out to you and focus on community events! We have lots of strawberry plants on the farm so anyone who donates is more than welcome to visit and collect a strawberry plant.
