We are a group of ten graduate nursing students who have been selected for a medical mission trip to the Philippines in May 2026. Our mission is to provide community outreach, basic medical care, and health education to underserved communities in Pampanga and surrounding areas. For many families in these communities, access to health care is limited. Our goal is to bring supplies, support, and evidence based care directly to them.
This mission is sponsored through our program and involves partnership with local organizations on site. During our time there we will participate in community outreach days, cultural education, and health promotion activities. We will be supporting populations with needs that include basic wound care, medication teaching, creating a Tippy Tap and health education for chronic illness prevention. Every student will be directly involved in the planning, preparation, outreach and follow up portions of the trip.
The expected cost for each student is 1400 dollars for program fees plus approximately 700 dollars for airfare. This total includes lodging, meals, transportation, community outreach materials, and other logistical support. Travel insurance and required vaccines are also needed out of pocket. For ten students this total quickly becomes a significant financial burden while we are also balancing clinical rotations, coursework, and living expenses.
We are fundraising to reduce the cost of participation for each student and to purchase medical supplies that we will bring with us. Donations will go directly toward:
• Program fees
• Airfare
• Travel insurance and required vaccines
• First aid materials
• Basic medications and wound care items
• Educational materials for health teaching
• Blood pressure cuffs, glucometer strips, and other essential tools
Every contribution, no matter the amount, gets us closer to our goal of reaching the communities we have committed to serve. If you are not able to donate financially, sharing this fundraiser with others is deeply appreciated.
We believe that compassionate care has no borders. Access to basic health services should not depend on geography or income. This mission allows us to serve others while growing into the kind of clinicians who see the world beyond the walls of the hospital.
Thank you for supporting us, encouraging us, and investing in the health of families across the world. Your support is the reason this becomes possible instead of just something we talk about during lectures.
With gratitude,
The Western University Nursing Students Selected for the 2026 Philippines Medical Mission Trip
