Fund NYC's New Queer-Centric News Source

Donation protected
On October 7, 2025, NYC gets a new source of queer-centric news, arts, and opinion content, when www.LGBTQCommunityNews.nyc launches as a free (no paywall, no pop-up ads) website and a monthly podcast featuring online articles read by the reporter. Additionally, October 27, 2025 sees the debut of a quarterly print publication: Copies of the free, 20-page color newspaper wlll be distributed throughout NYC and in select locations nationwide.

We need your help to launch and sustain this project.

Veteran NYC-based journalist/editor Scott Stiffler (founder/editor of 2019-launched www.ChelseaCommunityNews.com) has assembled a roster of hard news journalists, arts writers, photojournalists, columnists, and legal experts–all with extensive experience covering LGBTQ+ subject matter (and in most cases, extensive experience being LGBTQ+). Among them: Donna Aceto, Charli Battersby, Jackie Beat, Jon Gilbert, Winnie McCroy, Michael Musto, Frank Pizzoli, Trav S.D., and Sherry Vine. Contributions will also be made by Eric Marcus and colleagues (of the Making Gay History podcast); Perry N. Halkitis, PhD, MS, MPH, dean, Hunterdon Professor of Public Health & Health Equity (Rutgers); and the LGBTQ Representation attorneys of Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP.

The project, said Stiffler, will “chart and challenge the deplorably un-American words and deeds used by the current Administration to diminish the LGBTQ+ community–and so many other communities.” AAs for tonne, Stiffler promises “serious, satirical, and sex-positive content created with high regard for the human condition and precious little patience for people’s petty, hateful bull****.”
