My name is Missy and I am a member of LRRG, Lisbon Residents for Responsible Government. After several months of hard work, my group successfully gathered 988 signatures to create a referendum question. This question would give Lisbon residents the right to vote on the Municipal budget every year. Currently this is controlled by the Town Council. The Town Council determined that our petition was a revision, not an amendment to the charter, and would not be on the ballot. Our lawyers disagree with this decision and think they can win. We need $3400 to pay them to raise the issue in Superior Court. Please support our right to vote on the budget!
