The Hollis Center Public Library is a nonprofit, private organization in Hollis Center, Maine. The library is an important community center for the residents of Hollis Center and surrounding small towns in rural Southern Maine. Despite its small size, the library offers an impressive array of programs and services for the community, including children's programming, book clubs, story walks, geocaching, interlibrary loans, affiliations with the Portland Library system, and more.
The library is partially funded by a $30,000 annual budget from the town, but derives most of its operating expenses from community fundraising and donations. These funds are used for all operating expenses, programming, the salary of a librarian, and any capital improvements.
The library is in need of some capital improvements, the cost for which will exceed our current funds. We are raising $50,000 to modernize our HVAC system, expand our children’s section, and add a much needed community meeting space. Please consider supporting this beloved gem in our community!
