We are raising money to support US citizenship classes, offered for free for folks in southeast Iowa. These funds will be used to purchase class supplies and provide scholarships to cover the US citizenship application fee ($710 per person) for participants who complete the course.

Latinos For Washington, Inc. is a non-profit that has served the Washington, Iowa community since 2016. Our most recent citizenship class (spring 2025) had 15 students. In addition to the preparatory courses and scholarships for the application fee, we assist students with completing and submitting their application online, and participants have a high success rate for obtaining citizenship.

Beyond the US citizenship courses, we also offer college scholarships to local Latino high school graduates, various educational opportunities in the community, and sponsor a Festival Latino each year. We partner with local organizations and businesses to bridge the gap between the Latino and white members of our community.
