Love for Louie Fund for Justin & Em Brown Family

Donation protected

The Brown family has had a wild roller coaster ride over the past year. From foster to adopt challenges (impacted greatly by Covid), a very traumatic pregnancy amidst again, Covid, baby Louie’s arrival and still unknown official diagnosis, finding out Louie’s leg condition is worse than thought and will require a double amputation, and then their housing horrors to top it off. It’s too much to go in to but their “secure” housing plan fell through last fall leaving them scrambling to find a home to buy amidst all the above. And their home passed inspection only to have them move in and within the first month they experienced severe pipe leak issues, roof issues, and a sewage back up due to a cracked main sewage line. The last issue has resulted in Justin and a friend having to rip off the front porch and jack hammer all the concrete including the walkway to their driveway. After thousands of dollars to replace the main line to the house things are much safer and thankfully seem resolved but they’ve been left with no way to access their home except through the garage which also now has foundation issues due to the same problem. Any one of these major concerns might cause most of us to lose hope. But they’ve held steady to their faith in God and continue to strive to live life with joy and thankfulness. They need a boost of love and support and I know we can come alongside and alleviate a little of their struggle. There are many impactful ways you can support them as they prepare for Louies surgeries and prosthetics he will need for both legs.

1. Pray for them. They still face many challenges and can use all the prayers on their behalf
2. Reach out with a call, a note or text. Just knowing they’re supported will be a boost to them.
3.  Donate. If you’re able to do so, give financially to help lighten the load to help meet Louies medical needs and knock out some much needed repairs.

Many things they face aren’t going away anytime soon. It’s going to be more of a marathon vs. sprint for them and we acknowledge this fully. We also know that we are sometimes called to do hard things for a season that might last a very long time. We also know that helping to shoulder the burden in long seasons of pain and difficulty can be a huge encouragement and we’d like to shower them with some extra love.

Exodus 17 When Moses grew weary they brought him a stone so he could rest and Aaron and Hur came on either side and held his arms up so his hands could remain steady until sunset.

May we follow their example and hold them steady and allow them a little rest.

God bless
