Fund Collin’s Project to Digitize Glencoe’s Property History

Hi! I’m Collin Kastl, a Life Scout of BSA Troop 20 in Winnetka, IL. I’m raising $2,500 for my BSA Eagle Project on behalf of the Glencoe Historical Society (GHS). GHS has thousands of documents of Glencoe plat and property documents onsite going back to the 1800s that need to be scanned and uploaded into a computer database and accessed by a designed platform for any Glencoe resident researching the history of their property or anyone outside Glencoe researching the various historically significant locations, architects, movie sites, residents, etc. The $2,500 raised will go towards purchasing a publicly accessible computer to be located at GHS and for the various resources required to execute this project by September 2024 and to maintain the database and platform. Any additional or unused funds will go to GHS to continue to update the database and backup the documents in the cloud well into the future.
