Fund a legal battle - Gain peace back for my family

Hello friends,

Many of you know why I am doing this fundraiser, others may not be so familiar with my story, and this is for you. I am looking to raise funds to pay for mounting legal fees to be able to respond to a former partner who continues to abuse me and my family. I have been pulled into a legal custody battle of our 11-year old daughter for more than 1 year now and I am running out of funds. Although the legal battle has lasted for the last 12 months, the war has been running nearly 10 years. The price of letting go and giving in, would mean further abuse, instability, depression and countless other issues for the years to come. Continuing to fight means setting boundaries and having those boundaries respected through the law. It also means safety and protection for my daughter and my family.

This coming year, the lawyer estimates fees at $10,000 for responding to motions brought to court by R., sending motions to the court to ask for what we want and need, as well as a trial. I am now running on empty in terms of funds, energy, mental acuity, bodily health and I really need support from my extended community to keep going.
