Too many veterans struggle in silence. We are building a community where they do not have to. Hi, my name is Chris, and I founded Veteran Voices UK to help bring veterans together through connection, conversation and peer support. Leaving the forces can often mean losing the camaraderie, structure and understanding that once surrounded daily life. Too many veterans are left feeling isolated, unheard or struggling alone. Veteran Voices UK was created to change that. Through regular meet ups, breakfasts, curry nights and community events, we create safe and welcoming spaces where veterans can reconnect, talk openly and support one another through shared experiences. We also help keep veterans’ stories alive by using models and real-life experiences to educate others about military life and the realities many veterans face after service. These conversations not only help the public better understand veterans, but also give veterans themselves an opportunity to open up, be heard and feel valued again. Everything we do is centred around connection, understanding and support. We are now looking to take the next step by raising funds for a gazebo that will allow us to run events, fundraising activities and peer support meet ups throughout the year. At the moment, the unpredictable UK weather often limits what we can do. Without proper shelter, opportunities to bring veterans together are sometimes lost. The gazebo will give us a reliable and visible base at community events, helping us: • run more veteran meet ups • support fundraising events for charities • create welcoming spaces for conversation and peer support • reach more veterans and families in the community This is about far more than buying equipment. It is about creating more opportunities for veterans to connect, feel supported and know they are not alone. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping us grow Veteran Voices UK and continue supporting the veteran community.
