Hi everyone! We're taking on the Hatch End Triathlon this year - but this time, it’s about much more than the finish line.
Farah, Ben and Des (all volunteers of Harrow Cycle Hub) are raising funds to buy a 2-seater trike for the hub's Wheels for All program. Harrow Cycle Hub is a registered charity founded in 2021 to get more people cycling in Harrow.
Wheels for All is a brilliant local initiative that makes cycling accessible to people of all abilities. Their work creates opportunities for individuals who might otherwise never experience the freedom, joy, and independence that cycling can bring.
Why this matters to us
We are all volunteers of Harrow Cycle Hub and members of the local community, and have seen first-hand how powerful inclusive cycling can be. It’s not just about exercise - it’s about confidence, connection, and dignity.
For many participants, these sessions are the highlight of their week. They offer a rare chance to get outdoors, feel part of a community, and do something active in a safe and supportive environment.
But access to the right equipment is everything...
What we’re raising funds for
We’re aiming to fund a 2-seater trike - a specially designed cycle that allows someone with limited mobility, confidence, or additional needs to ride alongside a caregiver, volunteer, or family member.
These trikes are life-changing -but they don’t come cheap. A high-quality, adaptive 2-seater trike typically costs in the region of £4,000–£7,000, depending on the specification.
This piece of equipment would:
- Enable more people to participate who currently can’t cycle independently
- Support inclusive sessions for individuals with disabilities or additional needs
- Allow shared experiences -cycling together, not separately
- Reduce waiting times and increase capacity at sessions
Why your support matters
Every pound gets us closer to making this a reality.
This isn’t just about buying a bike - it’s about creating moments:
- A parent cycling alongside their child
- Someone regaining confidence after illness or injury
- A participant feeling, maybe for the first time, “I can do this too”
The challenge
We'll be completing the full Hatch End Triathlon on 10 May 2026 as a relay team -
- Farah will be swimming 800m
- Des will be cycling 17K
- Ben will be running 5K
We are excited to join together as a relay team and represent Harrow Cycle Hub!
If you’re able to support, donate, or even just share this page, it would mean a lot.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
