My name is Tay and I'm the chairperson of the 100 Mile Pride Society. On July 24, 2026, a vandal destroyed a large road sign advertising our summer Pride festivities and carved homophobic slurs into the scattered pieces. The RCMP is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

The estimated cost to replace our road sign is approximately $500, plus the cost of security cameras to protect our signage in the future.

In addition to replacing and protecting our destroyed property, the 100 Mile Pride Society is also raising money for our Rainbow Visibility Initiative. Last year, we funded a project to design and install queer/indigenous streetlight banners throughout the village at a cost of $5800. Future projects we'd like to pursue include installing a Rainbow Crosswalk ($18000) and commissioning a queer artist for a mural ($5000).

Please donate to help us keep the 2SLGBTQIA+ community visible in 100 Mile House!
