Full Turnout Gear 5k

Helping people requires strength and endurance. To honor emergency workers around the world and support my own crew in LaPorte, I am running the Lakeport Emergency Medical Responders 5K in full turnout gear on July 3, 2021, challenging myself physically and challenging us all to give as we can to support Lakeport Fire and EMS.

What is "full turnout gear"? Full turnout gear is everything that a firefighter must wear to help people in dangerous situations. A firefighter's full turnout gear includes boots, coat, overalls, helmet, gloves, heatshield, and hood. Full turnout gear is the personal protective equipment (PPE) of firefighters.

Lakeport Fire and EMS are made up entirely of volunteers, who maintain regular work and family commitments while responding 24/7/365 to emergency needs in Lakeport and surrounding townships covering over 155 squares miles. Every year that I have served with the first responder communities in Laporte and Bemidji, I have remained humbled by how amazing these people truly are!

Please join me in honoring the strength and endurance of emergency workers and medical personnel by joining my challenge. All donations will be split 50/50 between Lakeport Fire and Lakeport EMS.
