Help Me Keep My Mom Safe, Housed, and Cared For During This Crisis
My name is Casey, and I am the full-time caregiver for my mom, Donna. She is disabled, medically fragile, and depends on me every single day for bathing, feeding, medications, mobility help, breathing treatments, and constant supervision. I stepped out of my own life, my job, and everything I had to make sure she stayed safe and didn’t end up in a facility. We’ve always been extremely close, and she has always been there for me—now it’s my turn to be there for her.
But right now, everything is collapsing around us at once, and we are facing something I cannot get through alone.

What Happened to Us
A few weeks ago, our family situation took a devastating turn, and we were told we had to leave our housing. At the same time, the bank froze my mom’s account—even though I have legal durable power of attorney—so I suddenly had no access to her funds to pay for rent, bills, food, or even her medical needs.
Then IHSS reduced my hours, which cut my only income—despite me being the only person taking care of her daily needs.
Everything that keeps us stable disappeared at the same time.
We are now on the verge of:
Losing our housing
Losing our storage unit with all our belongings
Losing the basic care my mom needs to survive
Being left with no funds at all for food, gas, or medical supplies
I have called every number, agency, and resource, and no one has called back or helped us. Every day that passes, things get worse. I’m doing everything I can, but I’m running out of options.

My Mom’s Condition
My mom needs 24/7 care. She cannot:
Bathe without full assistance
Dress herself
Cook or eat without help
Clean herself after accidents
Get to her medical appointments alone
Be left unsupervised due to fall risk and memory issues
Walk long distances without help
Manage medications or treatments
She depends on me for everything. If I have to leave her to work another job, she will not be safe. She will not be fed. She will not get her treatments. She could be taken away or put somewhere unsafe.
I am doing everything I can to protect her, but I cannot do this without help.

Why We Need Help Right Now
This GoFundMe is our last hope.
We urgently need support for:
Emergency housing and moving costs
Keeping our storage from being auctioned
Basic bills (electricity, phone, insurance)
Medical supplies and care for my mom
Food and transportation to her 3–5 doctor appointments a month
Stability while the bank and IHSS issues get resolved
Even a small amount can help keep us safe through this crisis.

What Your Support Means
Your donation keeps my mom:
Warm
Housed
Cared for
With her medications
Out of danger
With me—her son—who she trusts
Your support means she won’t lose everything she has left.
It means I can continue caring for her the way she deserves, without having to abandon her to find outside work that would leave her completely alone and unsafe.

CALL TO ACTION — PLEASE HELP US
We are out of time.
We are out of options.
And I am terrified of what will happen if we don’t get help soon.
If you can donate—even $5—it will make an immediate difference in our lives.
If you can’t donate, please share our story. Shares save lives too.
I never thought I would have to ask for this kind of help, but I’m asking for my mom. She deserves to be safe, cared for, and protected.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, caring, donating, or sharing.
—Casey
