Operation Taco – Fueling Our First Responders, One Taco at a Time

Our Story

Last month, while working as a server at a hotel in Boerne, TX—where Texas DPS troopers were being housed while volunteering in Kerrville—I noticed something: each morning, these heroes were going without breakfast towards a disaster zone, with no assurance of a proper meal. Using what I had on hand (extra eggs, chorizo, and tortillas from my fridge), I made my first batch of breakfast tacos and delivered them at dawn. The gratitude I felt in that moment was unlike anything I’d ever experienced, and I knew I had to keep going.

Two weeks later, I uploaded my very first TikTok video of the tacos in action. By the fourth video, Operation Taco had truly exploded—our community began to rally, sharing the story and asking how they could help. In just 30 days, our TikTok family had grown to 30,000 followers, all united in one mission: to honor and support first responders with a simple, hot meal.

Impact to Date

Over 3500+ tacos served to volunteer first responders in Kerrville and local San Antonio/Hill Country first responders.

4–5 donation deliveries made each week, rain or shine.

Why We Need Your Help

To keep up with growing demand, expand our reach, and fulfill our long-term vision of bringing tacos to disaster zones, we need to:

Buy Ingredients in Bulk – Eggs, chorizo, tortillas, meat, chicken, and toppings at wholesale prices.

Upgrade Mobile Kitchen Gear – Portable griddles, insulated carriers, and fold-out prep tables.

Cover Logistics – Fuel, vehicle maintenance, and insulated delivery equipment.

Purchase a Food Trailer/Truck – A self-contained unit to cook and serve on-site anywhere from flood relief camps to wildfire evacuation centers.

Launch Branded Merch & Outreach – Caps, shirts, and stickers to thank donors, spread awareness, and donate a portion of merch sales to disaster relief efforts.

Our Goal: $30,000

With these funds, we’ll outfit and deploy a fully-equipped mobile kitchen—complete with the tools, supplies, and logistical support needed to bring piping-hot, made-to-order breakfast tacos directly to our first responders. Whether they’re stationed at a busy urban precinct, responding to a remote relief site, or racing to an emergency, we can adapt on the fly and ensure every hardworking hero has a nourishing meal when duty calls.
