Fueling Hope: Empower the Dewey World Recovery Community

Donation protected
Hello my name is Christina James and I am honored to be the CFO for a newly established non-profit Dewey World Recovery Community. I am asking today that while we are awaiting being able to be listed as a charity on this site that you could find in your hearts to start helping the process. We currently have some individuals in housing and some projects that need our attention. We are also hosting a Grand Opening on Labor Day Weekend, though we are relying on community donations we would like to provide activities to make it a family fun experience. Any and all help as we embark on this journey to keep a memory alive and movement in motion are appreciated. Please take the time to read the story below to see how this place has already impacted lots of individuals and families as well as how we are now planning to preserve the mission as we continue to develop.

Dewey Morrow, a man with a heart as vast as the open road, embarked on a journey that would weave together the threads of compassion and inclusivity. Mounted on his bike, he traveled across the country, reaching out to bikers from all corners, extending a heartfelt invitation to join him in his noble mission of hope and recovery. As he rode through towns and cities, Dewey's presence radiated warmth and acceptance, ensuring that no soul felt left out or alone in their struggle.

During major events like Biketoberfest and Daytona Bike Week, Dewey's outreach to the biking community became legendary, as he welcomed them to his sanctuary with open arms. His backyard campfire meetings and the clubhouse he built next to his home stood as symbols of refuge and support for those in need of solace. The doors were always open, a testament to Dewey's belief that everyone deserved a safe space to heal and grow.

In 2023, Dewey's grandson Shawn, carrying on his grandfather's legacy, continued to spread the message of community support and solidarity. Through their shared experiences and personal tragedies, Shawn and his family advocated for awareness and assistance for those battling addiction, ensuring that Dewey's vision of a supportive and inclusive recovery community thrived for generations to come. Together, they honored Dewey's memory by nurturing a space where all were welcome, where compassion and understanding flowed freely, and where the road to recovery was walked hand in hand.

We want to continue his story by maintaining a drug free community for individuals to continue in recovery and have time to reacclimate back to society. We would consider ourselves a second step program for the community. Thank you for your time and in advance for your help with our mission!

This funding will be used to help build his and her bathrooms as well as make some repairs needed to start expanding and finally for hosting the community event.
