There are no words that can encompass the total devastation left in the wake of the central Texas floods. I was boots-on-the-ground in Kerrville two days after the July 4th flooding, and I will never forget the palpable trauma & grief of families who lost their homes, cars, and loved ones in the blink of an eye.

I am volunteering with local VFDs in the flood-impacted areas. There are hundreds of damaged buildings & homes whose owners cannot tackle the physical & financial burdens of rebuilding without support from volunteers.

Having already driven up to volunteer twice, it is my deepest desire to keep making return trips to the flood-effected areas in central Texas. But my limited finances can’t continue to cover the gas costs that come from driving 9 hours round trip from Houston.
