Hello everyone,

My name is Caleb Green, and I’m a Senior at South Carolina State University as well as an IBM Student Ambassador. Over the past two years, I’ve dedicated my college journey to helping my fellow students access free career-building resources and credentials through the IBM SkillsBuild Program — a platform designed to prepare students for success after graduation.

As ambassadors, my team and I have hosted workshops, panels, and networking events that show students how to gain valuable certifications, learn in-demand skills, and connect with professional opportunities — all at no cost to them. These events have already helped dozens of students take their first steps toward careers in technology, business, and innovation.

However, creating and hosting these events comes with real costs — especially when it comes to buying supplies, promotional materials, and refreshments to make each event engaging and successful. As full-time students, our funding is extremely limited, and despite our passion and hard work, we’re often held back by a lack of financial resources.
