My name is Pastor Janet Banks and I have been elected to the National Democratic Convention as an alternate delegate. I am asking for your help to go to the convention in Chicago from August 19th to the 22nd. It’s quite expensive to attend and as a long-time volunteer it is difficult to fund all of the costs on my own.

This work inspires me to continue my advocacy, activism, and dedication in getting the vote out. GOTV! I show up for my communities and others. I am the President of the Lincoln’s Women’s March, past Nebraska Democratic Party’s (NDP) Black Caucus Chair, present Vice Chair of the NDP Black Caucus, Past 2nd Associate Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, Past Legislative District Leader of LD 21, 28, and 29. I have received the Lancaster Democratic Party Community Service Award (2022), Leadership Lincoln Alumni Distinguished Service Award (2020), am a recipient of the NDP Chair’s Award (2019), Gerald Henderson’s Human Rights Award (2010), and the Inaugural Roots of Justice Award recipient (2011) for my advocacy for the Affordable Care Act.
