Fuel Our Students' Dreams at OOTM World Stage

We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news that our State Street and Middle school students have earned a spot at the coveted Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM) World Finals! This tournament is going to be hosted at Iowa State University from May 21st to 24th. Our two extraordinary teams, who made us proud by placing 5th and 4th respectively at last year's World finals in Michigan, now have the opportunity to showcase their talents on the world stage again. However, we need your support to make this dream a reality.

We kindly appeal to your generosity to help cover the costs associated with this trip. Your valuable donations will go directly towards financing the travel, lodging, meals, as well as the transportation of props, sets, and costumes for our teams and their dedicated coaches.

Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM) is a creative problem-solving program where team members present their solution at a competition to a predefined long-term problem that takes many months to complete and involves writing, design, construction, and theatrical performance all done in 8 minutes. A spontaneous portion of the competition has the team also generate solutions to a problem they have not seen before. This program teaches 'OUT OF THE BOX THINKING' it's an amazing life skill to have for these kids that will carry with them throughout their lives!

Our two teams from State Street and Middle School that are in the final World competition after placing in 1st in Regionals and 1st in States are the following:

Problem 1 - Division 1: Drive In Movie Theatre : Nicolas Bringas, James Brooks, Addison Davis, Annabelle Domke, Eleanor During, Will Griffin, Henley Schoonmaker.

Problem 4 - Division 2: Deep Space Structure: Griffin Kowalski, Jackson Kowalski, Julian St. Claire, Ryan McPeck, Russell Georgianna, Jackson Sharpsteen, Wyatt Sharpsteen.

This event is not just another competition. It's a unique, life-changing opportunity for our students to present their abilities against teams from Germany, Poland, China, Singapore, Korea the U.S, and many other countries. It's an invaluable chance for them to develop their skills, broaden their horizons, and gain experiences that will positively shape their futures.

We acknowledge the challenge of funding such a trip, but we are also confident that with your support, these students can achieve their dreams.
