Fuel Chad's Mission to Rebuild Our Hometown

Hello All! My name is Marlena Boyce and I am reaching out in support of my brother, Chad Ownbey.

I am writing this today with the understanding that I am completely blessed. I was not affected by Hurricane Helene nearly to the degree that many of those I love were. I have many friends and family who were greatly affected and will feel the grief, despair, and hurt of that terrible storm for years to come, and many will forever be changed by it.

I started this off with the fact I am completely blessed because I know, like many others, that this storm could have taken much more from me, and I will forever be grateful to God for His hedge of protection over my family and friends that survived due to His grace. I feel a deep sadness that I have never felt before for those that weren't so fortunate. This deep sadness has opened my eyes to the great strength and courage my BIG brother has displayed since the moment the horror struck us. I have never been more proud of someone for stepping up and answering their calling. Most often times, we have a hard time answering God during the good times, even when things are going our way. Imagine doing it at a time like this. But that’s what he did, and that’s what he wants to continue to do.

As his sister, I am here to back him up and help him make that happen through this GoFundMe (even though he didn’t like the idea). My BIG brother, Chad Ownbey, has been doing everything he can to take care of his community from day one and wants to continue doing just that. He wants to use his talents, skills, and big heart to start rebuilding his community. He is determined to do this without asking for a single thing in return. So I am asking that we all answer the call and support him, so that through him we can help rebuild my hometown, rebuild the homes of family and friends, and help restore the strength and faith in those who were so greatly affected, so they may start anew. With our support, Chad will be able to utilize these funds to keep his equipment fueled and running so that he may continue doing what he does best.
