Scarlett’s medical expenses

The young family. ❤️

Sweet Scarlett had a stomach flu last week, fever, wouldn’t eat and stomach issues. She finally started to get better on Sunday 3/28. Monday she broke out in a bad rash on her hands, feet and mouth, of course resulting in her parents assuming HFM. As Tuesday approached, Scarlett had gotten much worse and had a rash covering her entire body. Courtney took her to her pediatrician and they tested for strep, it was negative. It was not HFM, chicken pox, measles, mumps or anything they could figure out. Her pediatrician assumed it was a post viral tummy bug rash and would resolve on its own. They started hydrocortisone and Benadryl along with Tylenol and ibuprofen. Her fever jumped to 102.2, throughout the day and night, her rash got worse and they rushed her to children’s hospital 3/31 early morning.
She had a fever that would not go away, an awful rash covering her body with bumps and peeling in some spots, the doctors were as confused as Courtney and Carter. They did extreme testing, poked and prodded, put sweet little Scarlett through the ringer, tested for so many things, still no answers. They narrowed it down to HSV, Steven Johnson syndrome or Erythema multiforme major. They ruled out HSV with testing and since SJS is normally following antibiotics, they ruled that out since she has not been on any medicine besides OTC. They are now thinking it is Erythema multiforme major. Upon a recent finding, Scarlett’s eyes have been affected by the virus and they will need to start steroids and treatment for the eyes immediately. Poor sweet Scarlett has had a hell of a time, her parents have been off work and will continue to be for an unknown amount of time without pay. Their insurance has also informed them that this will not be covered under their plan. They are under so much stress and trying to be Focused only on Scarlett so I am trying to help them out a bit and take a little load off. They have not asked for a single ounce of help but could surely use it as they just bought their first home and now this.

Even if you cannot donate or help, a share would be so helpful to this family.
