Frosty Bear is currently dealing with an unknown illness. He threw up five times within 48 hours Mid-May. Then he started going potty about 12 to 13 times per day which is very abnormal for him. The vets are suspecting either Cushing's Disease or Hypothyroidism. Multiple blood work labs and diagnostic tests have been run to determine the cause. He still needs 2 tests, but he had emergency surgery for an abscessed anal gland, so we are getting him through this first before any additional tests are done.
On June 27, Frosty began biting and ripping out the fur near his bottom. Upon look at the area, I discovered a large red, swollen lump. I immediately took him to the Emergency Vet since this occurred on Friday evening. He was diagnosed with an abscessed anal gland and had to go under anesthesia to get it drained. Overnight, the anal gland ruptured and he was taken back to the vet. He is currently on his second round of antibiotics to fight any infection.
While at the vet, he was also diagnosed with Grade 3 luxating patellas. At this point, this is not bothering him, so I'm going to start giving him a joint supplement.
This poor boy has had a tough couple of months.
Any assistance with his medical bills would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
