From Waiting Lists to Woodland: Give a Dose of Nature

Why this is important to me:
Starting university last year was a big step, I expected the stress of a new city, new people and endless assignments - but I didn't expect grief.
My mums unexpected passing at the start of winter knocked me side-ways, and long mental-health waiting lists left me in a spiral.
My world changed overnight, and I didn't know where to turn.
One morning, after another canceled appointment email, I walked out of my dorm to Whitelands' back field. I just needed some space. Sitting under the trees with the crisp air filling my lungs I took a deep, shaky breath. It was the first time in weeks that I felt like I could relax.
This small moment outdoors became a turning point. It reminded me how much being in nature helped where nothing else could.
Travelling back to Dorset to continue funeral planning, I was grateful to be in an area that provided the canopy of the forests, the coastline and open air. Familiar places that grounded me when everything else felt unstable.
After returning to London, I found Dose of Nature. A local charity who's ethos immediately resonated with me. They provide people with structured, guided time in natural spaces to support their mental health. Its simple, practical and best of all - it works.
Now, as the Whitelands 144th May Monarch, I'm raising funds to support their work. I know first-hand how valuable just taking a quiet moment in nature can be, especially when finding support quickly can feel impossible with long waiting lists everywhere else.
If you choose to donate, you're helping someone else find that same sense of relief - maybe at a time in which they need it most.
My fundraising challenge:
As part of my fundraising, I will be completing a sunrise hike up Mount Snowden - this means we will be climbing in the dark to reach the summit as the sun rises!
This is something I am working towards, despite currently being on crutches with an injury. As soon as my doctor gives the go-ahead, a date will be set!
Thankyou so much for reading and supporting this cause.
