My name is Claudia Quintero. I am a psychologist, human rights advocate, founder of Fundación Empodérame, a survivor of human trafficking, and a member of international survivor-led networks.

For years, I have worked alongside women affected by sexual exploitation, violence, and multiple human rights violations. Along the way, I noticed something troubling: while many countries have books, memoirs, and educational resources written by survivors, these materials remain scarce and often inaccessible to the women who need them most across Latin America.

That is why I wrote Survivor.

This book was born from a real story of violence, exploitation, resilience, and rebuilding a life. It was not written for academics or specialists. It was written for women who need a voice that feels close, honest, and understandable.

It was written for women searching for answers, strength, companionship, and hope.

Today, I want this book to reach women living in contexts of prostitution, sexual exploitation, sex tourism, armed conflict, and social vulnerability in Colombia.

More than a book, each copy will serve as a source of information and an invitation to seek support.

Every copy will include information about the free services offered by Fundación Empodérame, where women can access:

• Free psychosocial support.

• Free legal assistance.

• Confidential telephone guidance and support.

In many parts of the world, survivor-created resources are available for survivors.

Across much of Latin America, these kinds of materials remain limited.

We want to help change that reality.

Our goal is to place 100 copies into the hands of 100 women and connect them with a story that demonstrates that violence does not define who we are, and that it is always possible to rebuild a life with dignity.

The books are already printed.

Now we need to get them into the hands of those who can benefit from them most.
