This summer, 2026, we will be making an impact on central Arkansas, working as community to change the food insecurity issue. With one in three children in Arkansas experiencing hunger, we are creating a three mile triangle of available summer lunch so that no child has to walk more than half of a mile to receive free food.

The USDA will fund the purchase of the food. However, there is equipment that's needed in order to do food distribution and WE MISSED THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR AN ADVANCE BY 15 DAYS. That is where we need your help.

We are currently in need of a hand washing portable sink, trash cans , folding chairs , metal prep table and coolers. All our food will be delivered from Walmart, shelf stable, so we can accept Walmart gift cards or products ordered on our behalf.

This is a journey that began in December 2014 with 11 strangers across the internet, many of them based in Philadelphia, who had a dream of building community. Today we are a 501(c)3 federally recognized charitable organization with membership across three states, COMMUNITY DEVEOPMENT ASSOCIATION OF ARKANSAS, CALIFORNIA AND PA. We started with a susu (a community savings and loan), and we grew into a restaurant, a USDA feeding program. We bought and sold houses, housing families free and clear of debt. Now, we have a homestead in Hot Springs, Arkansas, one complete acre centrally located, and have hosted over 100 people in 5 years.

The thing is, now I'm 62, I've run out of steam and energy, and I'm ready to create and give away. It's time to complete and utilize the homestead we have here, and I can't do it by myself. Please join by giving, please join by visiting, please join by staying. It started out ours, and it should flourish as ours!
