From Shelter to Stability: Angel's Story

Hi, my name is Angel. I’m a mother of 3 beautiful kids, and recently, I made one of the hardest — but bravest — decisions of my life: I left an abusive relationship to protect myself and my children.

For years, I lived in fear, walking on eggshells, trying to keep the peace for the sake of my kids. But the emotional and mental and physical toll became too heavy. My children didn’t deserve to grow up in a home filled with tension and fear. So I left. We are now living in a shelter, starting completely over.

I’m doing everything I can to create a safe and loving environment for my kids, but the reality is, starting from scratch is incredibly hard. Between trying to provide basic needs, keeping up with doctor visits, applying for housing, and supporting my kids emotionally — it’s been overwhelming

I’ve started this GoFundMe because I need help getting back on my feet. The money raised will go towards:

• School clothes and supplies for my children

• Transportation and basic household items

• A deposit for stable housing when I find a place

• Childcare and therapy support for my kids who’ve been through so much

This isn’t easy for me to ask. I’m used to holding it all together and figuring it out on my own. But I’m learning that it’s okay to ask for help. I’m fighting for a fresh start, for healing, for peace — for my kids to have the childhood they deserve.
