The Petersville Training Center—once a beacon of opportunity and empowerment—now stands on the brink of nonexistence after Hurricane Melissa unleashed unprecedented devastation across Whitehouse, Westmoreland, and the wider southern region. What was built over years of sacrifice and community effort was nearly erased in a single storm.
Today, the community is barely recognizable. Families have been uprooted from their homes, many now displaced with no shelter, no electricity, and limited access to clean water or essential services. Entire livelihoods have been swept away, and the full extent of lives lost is still heartbreakingly unknown. The emotional and physical toll is immeasurable.
In the midst of this tragedy, The Petersville Foundation is mobilizing—determined to bring relief, restore dignity, and reignite hope. But we cannot do this alone. Your generosity can put food in empty hands, offer comfort where despair now resides, and begin the long journey of rebuilding what Hurricane Melissa has torn apart.
We are urgently seeking your support at a critical moment when the needs of our people far outweigh available resources. Every contribution—no matter the size—brings us closer to restoring stability, safety, and a sense of belonging to those who have lost so much.
Together, we can rebuild lives. Together, we can rebuild Petersville!
