Hi, I’m Huma, and I’m here to share a story that is both heartbreaking and inspiring. I’m raising funds for an orphanage in Pakistan that provides love, care, and hope to 16 beautiful children, aged 5 to 12, who have endured unimaginable loss.

Roughly two years ago, as tensions escalated between India and Pakistan, bombings became a grim reality near the Line of Control (LOC) in Azad Kashmir. The devastation left behind was staggering—destroyed homes, lifeless bodies of children and adults, and countless injured with no access to proper medical care. Amidst this heartbreaking chaos, my dear friend and his cousin traveled to the area to witness the aftermath and offer help.

What they found changed their lives forever. Among the ruins, they discovered a group of children who had lost everything—their families, their homes, and their sense of safety. Their parents’ lives had been tragically taken during the bombings, and extended family members, overwhelmed with their own survival, could not care for them.

Without a second thought, my friend and his cousin brought five of these children back to their home. Over time, they returned to the area to rescue more children, growing their family to 16 resilient kids. With no outside help, they transformed their home into a safe haven, ensuring these children received not just basic necessities, but also love and stability.

Today, they’ve established a dedicated shelter home where these children have access to:

Nutritious meals served three times a day.

Education to build a brighter future.

Medical care and therapy to heal from physical and emotional trauma.

A nurturing environment that makes them feel safe and loved.

But the truth is, my friend and his cousin have been funding everything—from food to education to medical bills—out of their own pockets. While their determination is limitless, their resources are not.
