My name is Lilieth, and I’m launching this fundraiser with a heavy heart and deep hope. My family have lived and worked in Galleon Beach, St. Elizabeth for nearly four decades. They are proud fishermen, rooted in a resilient community that now faces unimaginable loss. On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, tore through western Jamaica, leaving behind unimaginable destruction in Galleon Beach. Two lives were tragically lost, homes were flattened, businesses destroyed, and lives upended and forever changed.

This GoFundMe aims to help rebuild five homes, repair five damaged roofs, and restore five local businesses that are vital to the community’s survival. Every donation helps bring shelter, dignity, and hope back to those who’ve lost everything. Galleon Beach is more than a place—it’s family, tradition, and strength. All funds raised will be distributed with transparency and impact in mind:

48% will go toward rebuilding five homes for seniors over 60 and single parents with children who lost everything.

32% will fund roof repairs for five families whose homes were severely damaged but salvageable.

20% will support the restoration of five local businesses, helping to revive the economic heartbeat of Galleon Beach.
