My name is Faysal Koten. A few years ago, I purchased almost 300 new area rugs to sell in the United States. When I had to return to my home country, that plan came to a halt. The rugs have remained in storage in the U.S., unused.

I would like to give them a new purpose by getting them into homes where they can be appreciated and put to use. First, I need to access the inventory, arrange handling and transport, and connect with organizations or community contacts who can help identify households that could benefit. These arrangements are still being developed. I will share confirmed partners and distribution progress as the work moves forward.

How donations will be used

Donations may cover accumulated storage charges, handling, transport, and the practical costs of distributing the rugs. A significant portion may also reimburse me for part of the money I originally invested in purchasing them. I want supporters to understand both purposes of this fundraiser. It is not a campaign in which every dollar goes directly to a nonprofit or to delivery expenses.

The rugs’ combined retail price was estimated at around $90,000. That is an estimated retail value, not what I paid for them or an amount I expect to receive through this campaign.

The overall fundraising goal is $30,000. GoFundMe currently displays an automated starting goal of $7,000, which may change as the campaign progresses. I will post updates about confirmed costs, how funds are used, and the rugs’ distribution.
