Support Christine’s Fight

Meet Christine Little — a loving mother, devoted wife, and kindhearted friend who has always been the first to help anybody.

Update 6/25: They found cancer on her left lung as well as a tumor. They also found 4 small spots on her liver, she has a lymph node on her neck that is also cancerous. They just found a spot on her brain as well that was bleeding which has now stopped. She will have to have laser surgery on her brain before she can start chemo.

Update 6/28: Unfortunately the diagnosis that we heard of small cell lung cancer was not confirmed on the bronchial biopsy. Last night 6/29 we had a medical scare involving the esophagus, so we rushed to the James emergency room this morning. We are currently waiting on a lymph node biopsy from Miami valley. She has a small amount of fluid incasing the heart but is not impacting the function of the heart. She also has a mass in her neck around the esophagus. She has been admitted to the James and we are waiting further results.

Update 7/2: Mom was officially diagnosed with stage 4 large cell lung cancer from the preliminary results. We were told to further await results from osu pathology for the molecular structure of the cancer.

Update 7/3-7/4: Early morning July 4th at 2:40am mom lost her breathing abilities and was preparing for intubation. While preparing for intubation her heart rate dropped and her pulse was lost. Code blue was initiated at 2:45am. She was resuscitated at 2:49am and was quickly awake and following commands afterwards. Right after she was resuscitated, she was transferred to MICU. While at the MICU she was given one Bronchoscopy to look down the throat and examine the left lung main airway and then was given a second Bronchoscopy to debulk the tumor that was blocking some of the main airway. She was then given a SBT (Spontaneous Breathing Trial) to see if her lungs could handle not being on an assisted breathing machine. She failed the SBT because of the outside mass on the left lung pushing on the main airway.

Update 7/5: Doctors came in today and scheduled an appointment with radiation oncology for Monday to get detailed ct scans of the left lung mass followed up by a potential treatment of radiation therapy. Throughout the day she has battled anxiety and the feeling of shortness of breath while breathing which disrupts her ability to breathe correctly. She wishes that she doesn’t get many visitors at the moment due to her battle with anxiety, we appreciate everyone and hope you can respect her wishes. She loves you all for all the thoughts, prayers and donations but she is in the biggest battle of her life.

Update 7/11: Mom unfortunately passed away. She started to have kidney failure and her body just started to shut down.
