Anyone who knows me will know how much I LOVE elephants
This summer, I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to return to Thailand to volunteer at the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, an ethical elephant sanctuary that rescues and cares for animals that have previously been used in tourism and logging.
After my experience visiting an ethical sanctuary in Chiang Mai last year, I saw first-hand the impact this work has, and I knew I wanted to come back and get more involved in a hands-on way to support these amazing animals.
As a teacher in the UK, this experience is about more than just volunteering with wildlife. It’s also about making a meaningful connection with the local community. While I am there, I will be visiting a local school, supporting students with their English, and starting a pen-pal partnership between my class in England and students in Thailand. This will give children from both countries the opportunity to learn about each other’s lives, cultures, and education in a really special and meaningful way.
I am raising £1200 to help cover the cost of my volunteering placement, a donation to the charity, and educational resources that I will bring with me to support the school. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much and help make this experience possible. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support
