My name is Diya Kandel, and my family home is in Devighat, Nuwakot, one of the areas severely affected by the devastating flood.

The home I grew up in has been badly destroyed and is no longer safe to live in. Thankfully, my family managed to escape safely, but they lost almost everything they had built over the years, including their belongings, important necessities, and savings.

Our cloth shop, which was my family’s main source of income, was also completely destroyed. My family has now had to leave their home and start over from almost nothing.

Being far away while worrying about my family’s safety has been incredibly difficult. Seeing my beautiful hometown devastated and so many people affected has broken my heart.

I am creating this fundraiser to help my family find safe shelter, meet their immediate needs, and eventually rebuild their home and source of income.

The funds will be used for:

50%— Safe shelter and rebuilding our home

30%— Food, clothing and essential daily needs

20%— Replacing necessities and rebuilding our livelihood

I will continue doing everything I can to support my family, but I cannot do this alone. Any contribution, no matter how small, will mean more to us than I can put into words. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much.
