The Ross Family, Peterson Family, and Kate Reilly are going to Guatemala next week to build a house through the non-profit organization called From Houses to Homes. This organization is dedicated to building homes and providing education & health care to Guatemalans. Currently, the organization is up to over 1,400 homes! The picture below is one of many streets we drove through each day on our way to the worksite last year.

Last summer, my dad and I had a life-changing and humbling experience building a home together for a family who touched our hearts in indescribable ways. By the end of our time there, the family through conversation and some legendary “fútbol” games, became a part of ours. As we head back for our second year, we cannot wait to go back and check in with them as we continue to root our way into the program’s growing family. The cover photo of this page is the house we built last year!

We are building a house for a family of 6, with four girls under the age of 11. Currently, they live on the dirt ground with only a few metal sheets, which does not protect them from the cold and rainy seasons. During five days we will work to create a secure and safe cinderblock home that will have a lock and key. In addition, their creation of the house will allow the family to be able to attend a local school and be apart of medical service. The picture below is of the school.

We are creating pages to spread awareness of such an organization that has touched the lives of many and that continues to demonstrate that no action, big or small, goes unnoticed or unfelt in the world.
If you feel inclined to leave a donation that will go directly to From Houses to Homes, we look forward to sending you an email of our experience and pictures of the house we build next week!
Thank you in advance for supporting and getting to know a little bit more about a cause that is important to our family.
My family, friends, and I would like to emphasize that learning more about the organization and its causes are more important to us than large donations- please do not feel inclined to leave more than $25.

If you would like to talk to me about my personal experience or ask me any questions, please email me at [email redacted]. I am happy to go more into detail about my trip to Guatemala last year and hopefully encourage you to take a trip of your own!
