From Hopeless To Healing

By now you’ve probably seen a news clip going around talking about a deputy out of Cabarrus Co. North Carolina who had a major impact on my life. And while yes he deserves credit for helping me it wouldn’t be right to not first and foremost give God the ultimate credit.

To be honest…I never thought I’d make it this far.

I came to North Carolina with intentions of making it just far enough to get my son back but I NEVER thought that my life would end up FOREVER changed. With the help of the EURY family, Connie Blalock and her shop Connie’s Coffee & Cafe… and Gleaning Mission Church in Oakboro I’m able to stand here today 10 months clean.. and able to say that I got my little boy back.

I knew God was real but upon moving down here I have witnessed HIM change my life completely. From blessing me with a full time job under Miss Connie herself. To being able to use my voice on the worship team at church I am at an absolute loss for words. The reason for sharing my story wasn’t for the fame or the attention. I just want people to know. To know that there is a God of healing who wants us to COME AS WE ARE. I was broken. I was addicted. I was lost and on the verge of giving up on life itself. Leaving behind my boy without a mother. But GOD.

God revealed to me that my past is forgiven. He looked at me and said “what past?” He showed up for me when I needed it most. He healed areas of my life that I thought would never be mended. And I just want others to experience the love and healing that I have.

Im starting this go fund me not only to help get me and my kiddo into our first home but to also give back to people who helped me make it this far. I’ve decided to only take 25% of whatever is raised and give the remaining 75% to Miss Connie and her shop. Her mission is clear and that is to offer not only coffee but to also share the love of Jesus with the community. This is shown in her way of opening her doors to the homeless community here in Albemarle NC. She offers them coffee and a breakfast sandwich free of charge. And this is only made possible by the help of the community donating to a gift card solely dedicated to funding this mission. And how amazing would it be to be able to give back to the woman who helped me get back on my feet and who took a chance on this broken recovering addict?

I know I’m not good with words but I truly hope you somehow find it in your heart to see that God is truly out here changing lives one day at a time. And if you take away anything from this I hope you know… that Jesus loves you no matter what background you come from and he wants you in eternity with him forever.
