From Homeless to Heroes

Donation protected
Officer Anthony Vain and K9 Officer Rocko have three things in common.  At one time they were both homeless.  They both fight crime.  Their ability to do their jobs is in jeopardy.

The Indiana K9 Learning Center pulled Rocko from the Elkhart Humane Society.  He was on the short list for euthanasia due to his unadoptable behavior.  He did great in his obedience training but his intense ball drive and strong work ethic showed that he was destined to do something other than be a family pet.  He was sent to Universal K9 in San Antonio, TX, where he was trained to be a drug detection dog.  He  was paired with San Antonio's K9 Officer Anthony Vain.

Anthony's 2006 Crown Victoria (his personal car outfitted to be his squad car) needs replaced.  It's no longer dependable and the repair costs are surpassing the vehicles value.  There isn't money in the city's budget to replace Anthony's and Rocko's work vehicle.  To add to their woes, Anthony's wife had been battling Stage 3 cancer and is now in the reconstruction phase.  Their medical bills are piling up.

The Indiana K9 Learning Center has secured a matching donor for the fundraising for Anthony's and Rocko's much needed squad car so they can continue to do their job keeping drug dealers off the streets of their hometown.  Every dollar raised is matched by an anonymous donor.

If 1000 people donate $15 then our goal is met.  Elkhart's economy is booming.  Let's show Anthony and Rocko that Elkhart is truly the City with a Heart.
