The most difficult admission is needing help.
My name is Claire-Marie, and alongside my partner, Kieran, we are doing our best to raise our four beautiful children: Rosie-Mae (6), Jensen (4), Cirilla-Jane (3), Amelia (2), and our new baby arriving in January 2026. For years, I've tried to manage our family's finances independently, but with another baby on the way, we have reached a breaking point. Kieran is currently out of work due to his mental health and I am pregnant, with undiagnosed physical and mental issuse this has put an immense strain on our household. After years of constant struggle, we are finally asking for help for the sake of our children.
An unstable past led to our current struggle.
Our financial hardship began years ago when we were unjustly evicted from our home with just two weeks' notice. We were bounced between temporary accommodations before finally securing a home, but this process left us with significant, unavoidable debt. The situation was complicated further when we had to pay double rent for a month during one of our moves, burying us in a hole we have never been able to climb out of.
Our current financial situation.
We receive Universal Credit and Child Benefit, but after paying nearly £800 for rent, council tax, and utility bills, we are left with less than £200 for food and essentials for our family of six. This is simply not enough, and it means our children miss out on the quality of life they deserve. It breaks my heart that my six- and three-year-olds have only ever been on one holiday—a trip their nan generously paid for—because we just can't afford it.
We've explored every other option.
We are actively trying to improve our situation and have reached out to multiple charities and organisations. While we are grateful for the small amount of help we have received, we've repeatedly been left to navigate complex systems on our own. With my pregnancy advancing and our family expanding, the worry is becoming overwhelming. We are exhausted and running out of options.
What your donation will provide:
-Settling our debt: Your donation will help us pay off the debts that have accumulated over the years, giving us the chance to finally get our family on solid ground.
-Essential provisions: A safety net to ensure we can put enough food on the table each month and provide basic necessities for our growing family.
-A new beginning: Any funds raised beyond our immediate needs will be used to create stable, happy memories for our children—allowing us to finally give them the family holiday they deserve.
Thank you for your generosity.
Your donation, no matter the size, would be a life-changing gift for our family. Even if you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story. Thank you for your time, and for listening to the story of my beautiful family.
