Carmen Delzell food and clothes for the poor

Carmen constantly, continuously, and tired or not, gives her heart, time, energy, and any money or donations she has to the poorest women and children who live in the shadows and neglected corners of San Miguel.

She has been doing this for over 25 years. She used to sell antiques from India to raise the money, but at 76 she is no longer able to make the arduous trips to India.

Supporters set up this GoFundMe to help her continue her charitable work in August of 2020.

If you know Carmen personally, you know that she has completely and unequivocally devoted her life to poor women and children. She spends her days in the poorest, most dangerous barrios looking for the most vulnerable families.

She is robbed, threatened, and confronted with heartbreaking stories and images most people can’t bear to witness. She lives on almost nothing.

A man with an unrelated grievance recently posted a hateful and slanderous comment here.

In his anger and ignorance he may not realize he is hurting the desperate women and children of San Miguel de Allende who have a champion in Carmen.

Carmen wants all of you to know just how much your continued support means to her, and also, how positively your donations impact the families she watches over.
